NEW YORK {Day 1}

My new blog was suppose to be up the week that we returned from our trip to NYC.  It ended up being a few days later than expected, so I kept putting off my post!  Well, it's going to take me a few days, but I am going to do my best to show you all about it...

EARLY morning flight out of town...we were excited!!!
 When we arrived and finally made it to our hotel {The Westin} our room was ready so we dropped our bags and hit the streets!  We were both starving so we walked through Times Square and ate at the Roxy.  It's an old Time Square staple and we ate giant burgers and contemplated the cheesecake, but ended up coming back to get that Saturday night!

 This is probably one of the best pictures we've ever taken together!  What a sweet memory...after we ate lunch we walked to Rockafeller Center and I asked a lady on the street to take our picture.   I think she did a great job!  Can not WAIT to frame this one for the new house...

From there we walked to Saint Patrick's Cathedral...what an experience.  People are quietly walking around, sitting in pews praying, and there were a ton of art students sitting in pews drawing.  We were both in awe of the sheer size of this beautiful church.

 Of course we had to go to one of my favorite stores on the planet!  They have the most unique kitchen stuff and the BEST clothes and jewelry.  I think Lee even liked it! ha!

 Late afternoon we headed back to our hotel to freshen up before grabbing drinks and appetizers.  We bought tickets to Rock of Ages that day and this little place was right beside the theatre.  We shared Fritto Misto {fried calamari and shrimp with zucchini and peppers} and it was devine!  And of course, a specialty beer brewed in Brooklyn!

 Rock of Ages was good...we had bad seats and had been up since 4 in the morning, so I think we would have enjoyed it more if not for those circumstances!   We crashed when we got back to the hotel that night to get ready for our first full day....stay tuned!
