They Feathered My Nest

I am so excited to share this post today and I am linking to one of my favorite blogs
where today she is asking bloggers to share their baby showers!!

In late June, a few of my best, most precious friends hosted a baby shower for me and Hampton.  In a non-traditional twist, we decided to have the shower at my new house because so many of our friends and family had yet to have a chance to come visit.  The girls handled every detail, and with the theme they selected, "Feather Her Nest" , it all came together to be a sweet, sweet memory that I will never forget.

This is the invitation created by my friend Ashley {and her hubby}...isn't it just adorable?
I love that they pulled the header from
 my blog into the invite!
{I cropped the invite to leave out my address and their names}

Let me tell you, these girls did not disappoint
when it came to the food!
Above, Southern Barbeque Sliders were
served in this beautiful wooden bowl from the island in my kitchen...
Bird's nest cupcakes and petit fours added
a little something sweet...
The girls...Ashley, me, Stephanie, and Carla
I met these girls as a freshman in high school {1991}...and in writing that, I am just realizing we have been friends for 20 years!  We have experienced just about
everything together and I consider them my sisters.
My life has been blessed for knowing them and being loved by them.

Every food item and beverage were labeled with
these miniature nests filled with Jordan almonds
and handwritten labels.
The main food table with fresh veggies,
pimento cheese and crackers,
grapes and cheese tray, and
cream cheese with red pepper jelly.

The food table in my kitchen was strictly for sweets!  Cupcakes, petit fours,
chocolate covered strawberries, and a lemon cake.
Heaven.
And check out that vintage bird cage!
Ashley put the flower arrangement for the table inside!
My favorite food at the shower were these deviled eggs!
Triple Pickle Deviled Eggs topped with pickled okra!
You KNOW I love okra...

 Eating my 325th deviled egg...

Our friends and family have been so generous to us.  Even though I did keep a lot of the boys clothes, there were many things like a car seat and monitor that we needed new.  So many things have come out since I had the boys or we just didn't have room for "two"  in our old house!  It is fun to have things that are just for Hampton.

My girl cousins...Ally, Elizabeth, me, and Nicole

My nest certainly felt "feathered" and my heart grateful!
